What?!

DATA LEGE was formed in 1992. It's prime mission has crystallized over time, and is now quite clear: To provide Internet and Intranet + fax solutions to small businesses.

That non-withstanding, we do have all the expertise and experience needed to cater for the needs of large private and government organizations. We do have the contacts needed to pull together resources as a Virtual Company. Don't hesitate to contact us.

We pride ourselves on listening closely to you, our clients, and working with you to meet your specific needs. We don't believe in taking longer steps than necessary when changing an existing solution -- we take things in manageable steps, one step at a time, always in close co-operation and communication with you, our customer.

While vitally important, it is not enough to listen to immediate client needs. Internet and Intranet technology is a part of Information Technology (IT) and it's use in organizations is evolving rapidly. DATA LEGE allocates considerable time and resources to ensure that we are well informed about the future of Internet and Intranet technology as well as Information Technology in general to ensure that the solutions we provide have a path into the future both as regards our clients goals and in terms of the technologies we apply.

For a successful IT implementation in any-size organization the IT strategy must become part of the organizational objectives. Built on pure Internet Standards, meaning no gatewaying and none of the hassle, communication delays and loss of mail normally associated with gatewaying.

All our solutions build upon these very important principles. If you want something unwieldy and complex, chances are we will politely but firmly suggest a different solution, and if this is not acceptable for you, that we will simply turn down your business. Our prime driving force, what motivates us, is to produce exceptional performance; the mail must be delivered; and if we are not given enough freedom to do this the way we believe it must be done in order to work smoothly, safely and efficient for you, the customer, we would rather not do it at all.

Our name stands for the highest reliability and uncompromising standards.

Technology

The technology we are offering is very safe and dependable. Unix has been around for 30 years and is rock-solid compared to only 10-year-old NT-technology. Linux offers very safe Unix Firewalling technology at very competitive pricing. And to top this off, the source code is included at no extra charge at all. I offer a superior system for communicating, for staying in touch with colleagues, business associates and friends using friendly Linux- and Internet-technology. Actually, what is so superior is that it is dependable and actually will deliver mail safely and to the intended recipients. This might sound like stating the obvious, but too many mail-systems are flashy and with nice user interfaces but are simply not dependable. This one is.

You will get the fastest and greatest Internet solutions around using latest state of the art software technology on the Intel hardware platform. Our Linux- and Internet-technology outruns comparable proprietary solutions many times over.

Can this technology be used in a PC-based LAN (Local Area Network)?
Yes, it can. It is itself PC-based, and can even be used as the office file-server for Win 3.11, Win 95 and NT alike.

Do I need some networking operating system?
You can use most any networking operating system if you want to, but you don't have to. Linux TCP/IP networking "comes with the territory" and will solve most of your needs. If you prefer, you can also use NT networking. There are many options. Contact us!

Do we have to assign a separate office server?
If you have a physically distinct office, this would be a very good idea. But if not, you will probably be interested in our Virtual Domains services. As always, contact us!

Our office is not in the same city/state/country/continent as your consulting company, how can you help?
I can guide you to a great solution and to find a competent consultant near you through my international contact-network with several hundred consultants world-wide. For the Virtual Domains services distance is no object, of course. As always, contact us!

Does it cost anything to ask a question?
Of course not! If answering the question would require some hard work, I'll inform you of this before doing anything about it and suggest what it would cost. But I'll never charge you unless we are agreed on a price.

Examples

You are a small company with maybe 3 to 10 people in the office and 2 to 6 people out of office. This is a low-cost, high-capacity, very versatile solution using a PC with Linux as a combined router, firewall and POP-3 or IMAP-4 server for dial-in users and local-net users alike.
